May 15 was a great day helping runners Suffer Better during this year's Boulder Mountain Marathon and 10-Mile Ascent. Nearly 180 runners raced the roads and trails around Gold Hill above Boulder on a damp and foggy day. The Suffer Better crew managed an aid station early on in the 10-Mile Ascent. Nothing like cheering the runners as they cruised steadily up the hill - a long hill at that, and very definitely up. The finish was spectacular, actually above the cloud layer and into the sun, leading to an amazing afternoon of good fun, amazing food and a tired but enthusiastic crowd of finishers. The winners got real fireman's axes for their efforts - that says it all about this race - well done Flatirons Running for the event and big thanks from Suffer Better for the opportunity to be part of it all. Proceeds from the races and The 110 from the goodies we sold all go to benefit the Four Mile Fire Protection District.
